Quilting Ministry
4:00 p.m.
This group creates beautiful quilting projects including: bowl cozies, pillow, quilted bags for our congregation and for the community. Many of the items are on sale at the May Days Fest in Longview in the spring and at the Oktoberfest in Hickory in the fall. The group is always willing to have those who would like to learn and who enjoy fellowship and creating new projects. The group meets in the "Quilting Room" in the Peeler Building. Bethany is proud to have a strong working relationship with Hickory Public Schools and with Dr. Robbie Adell, Superintendent and Dr. La'Ronda Whiteside, Assistant Superintendent and Ms. Angela Simmons , Director of Students Services. Throughout the year, Hickory Public Schools utilizes the Parish Center for forums and Faculty and Staff Assemblies.
Wednesday Together Meals are held each week September through April. Cost is $5/adults, $3/children, and $6/take-out. All are welcome!
Is Funded by by a grant from the Federal Government and provides after-school tutoring, drop-out prevention assistance, and summer programming for students in grades 2-12 at no cost to students or parents.
Bethany is proud to host Inspired Learning at the Peeler Education Building at no charge to this vital community program.
An orientation for parents will be held on Tuesday, September 11 at 6:00 PM in the Parish Center
Bethany participate annually in the May Days Festival in the Town of Longview. In 2018 the May Days Festival will be on May 11.
The Rev. Dr. C. Pierson Shaw, Jr. is both Pastor at Bethany and an Adjunct Instructor in Religion at Lenoir Rhyne University. Amid the many opportunities for enrichment and ministry at Bethany, the Congregation welcomes students, Faculty, and Staff of LRU and invites you to consider becoming actively involved in the ministries at Bethany. For students and staff on their first visit to Wednesdays Together who present an ID card, we offer a meal free of charge on your first visit. Members of Bethany participate in the Annual Faith and Spiritual Fair on Shaw Plaza in front of the Cromer Center Wednesday, September 5, 2018 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
